NUST Entrepreneurs Club
Revived a near-dead society with friends and turned it into a top-tier NUST society.
- First president after the revival, and the only one in its history to hold the role in second year.
- Led incognito: most of the team thought I was an ordinary member until orientation. Afterwards they called me "el-presi".
- Handed over in 2025. In that year's walk-in interviews I applied anonymously and was selected into all 14 teams before anyone noticed.
The revival
In 2024 the NUST Entrepreneurs Club was close to dead. A few of us decided to revive it, and within the year it was one of the top societies at NUST. I was its first president after the revival, and the only president in its history to hold the role in second year for a club that size.
Leading incognito
For most of that time, most of the team did not know I was the president. I sat in meetings as an ordinary member and let the work speak before the title did. The reveal came at orientation. The nickname "el-presi" came shortly after.
The handover
In 2025 I handed the club over to the strongest students I could find. Then, during that year's walk-in interviews, I applied anonymously. I was selected into all 14 teams before anyone worked out who I was.
I think about leadership in three types: leaders by blood, by command and by virtue. I try to be the third kind, and I know its weakness is succession. The handover was the part I worked hardest on.
